Government Agencies and Public Bodies

The Glossary on Government Agencies and Public Bodies (2025) includes the names of Finnish ministries together with agencies and bodies operating under their administrative branches. The Glossary compiled in the Prime Minister's Office provides translation equivalents in Swedish, English, French and Russian.

Of the foreign language equivalents, the names in English are the most firmly established while the French and Russian names are in some cases only our suggestions.

Capitalisation of the Finnish names complies with the recommendation of the Finnish Language Board. Ultimately, the organisation's own usage is followed if known. In other languages, recommendations given on the orthographic conventions of each language are adhered to.
